The Dresden Plate quilt block made its debut in 1920 and the first pattern was created in 1930. The name came from a Victorian era when fine porcelain plates were used with colorful flowers, fruit and foliage. The quilt design was created from the printed feed sacks.
This block was found in Oakland and most certainly was created from feed sacks!
