This bedspread originated in Oklahoma. I had this idea that it had to become a shirt and pants! I left the fringe on the lovely embroidered bedcover! There was no sign this special piece had ever been used….. I think it was quietly stored away for years. As I work on pieces I wonder about their history. I think about the maker and the person that owned it.
Was this bedcover the wrong style? Was it a wedding gift and the marriage didn’t workout? Was it made by a mother gifted to a daughter with opposing taste?….I will never know but now it has been freed from the closet and maybe it will make its way to a beautiful gathering on the beach or the mountains with lots of dancing and a cocktail!

-1930 quilt pieces and tea-towel
